Executive Director of the WTA - Evan Loveless

I am self-employed as a tourism and recreation consultant. In this capacity I have worked effectively with several small businesses, communities, organizations and consulting teams on tourism and recreation planning and development projects. Specific expertise includes eco and adventure tourism, First Nations and community projects, parks and recreation projects and the areas of conservation and sustainability.WTA Exexutive Director - Evan Loveless

Over the years I have had the opportunity to participate in several land and resource, and recreation planning processes. I have also participated in many committees involved with sustainable tourism development including the Adventure Tourism Joint Steering Committee. I have membership with several tourism and recreation organizations, including Board of Director positions with the Outdoor Recreation Council of BC, Environment Fund of BC, and the Alpine Club of Canada. I was a founding director of the Commercial Bear Viewing Association of BC.

I started off in the industry as a guide in various outdoor pursuits and I continue to get out and explore the backcountry via skiing, climbing, paddling or mountain biking whenever I can. I have a deep passion for the outdoors, wilderness conservation and stewardship, and business sustainability, as well as a keen interest in government policy and resource planning, and I look forward to the opportunity to bring all these together in the WTA.

I hold a Bachelors Degree in Tourism Management and a Diploma in Adventure Tourism both from the University College of the Cariboo (now Thompson Rivers Uiniversity), and have been working towards a Masters Degree in tourism planning over the years.
