January 2026: Return of the WTA’s Online Auction!

Dear WTA Community,

Happy New Year everyone! We’re starting 2026 with momentum and wanted to share some exciting news and upcoming WTA highlights to keep on your radar.

We’re excited to share that the WTA Silent Auction is set to return in early April 2026!

The WTA Silent Auction plays a critical role in supporting the work of the Wilderness Tourism Association. By raising the majority of our annual operating funds through the auction, we’re able to keep membership fees as accessible as possible while continuing to advocate on behalf of wilderness and adventure tourism operators across British Columbia.

Last year’s auction directly supported several important outcomes, including:

  • Hiring Cassandra Zerebeski as Executive Director;

  • Strengthening our partnership with Tourism Industry Association of BC (TIABC);

  • Expanding the WTA’s capacity to represent operators in decisions affecting land use, access, and operating conditions.

For those new to the WTA:
The Wilderness Tourism Association represents wilderness and adventure tourism operators across BC, working year-round to ensure real-world operator perspectives are included in policy decisions that shape how tourism operates in our wild places. You can learn more about the success of our past project here

More details about the 2026 Silent Auction will be shared in the coming months!

Auction contributions are donated by WTA members. If you’re not currently a member but would like to get involved, we encourage you to learn more about our tiered memberships and reach out!
